The incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday.
A hand gun was unintentionally fired at the North Park mobile home community resulting in a wound in the upper left thigh of the child, who will be all right, he said.
As the incident is under investigation, there was no more information available.
Man arrested after alleged abuse
Dickinson Police arrested a 40-year-old Dickinson man for allegedly abusing his female partner by grabbing her by the hair and sweatshirt and shoving her down several times on Tuesday shortly before noon, DPD Capt. A Dickinson man was arrested for allegedly possessing illegal methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia, Dickinson Police Department Capt. Joe Cianni said. Eric Bredwick, 27, was taken into custody shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
