Eileen Ann (Tande) Iverson, 64, Ferndale, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Jan. 27, at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham. She was born to Marvin and Margaret (Kjelgaard) Tande on April 28, 1948, in Powers Lake.

She grew up on the farm near Tioga, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Williston and while there met her husband, Dean J. Iverson.

They were married Nov. 9, 1985, and shortly after moved to Grand Forks, until her husband graduated from UND. They then moved to Houston for five years and then returned to North Dakota.

In 2003, Eileen and Dean moved to Maple Grove, Minn., until Dean graduated from seminary. They then moved to Ferndale to serve their first congregation, Triumph Lutheran Church.

Eileen enjoyed sewing and made many quilts. She also enjoyed many crafts. She liked chocolate and antiques. Her joy was working in the background at many church activities and used her secretarial skills and organizational skills to help where she could.

She was gifted from God to her husband of 27 years. Though she and Dean had no children, God blessed them with nieces, nephews and others from the younger generations that were to her a real joy.

Her greatest joy was time with her husband. She was a true helpmeet for him.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Rev. Dean J. Iverson; sisters, Beverly Trowbridge and Lenore Tande; brother, M. Lyle Tande; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Kelly Weinand and Michael Trowbridge; and great-nephew, Travis Jade Trowbridge; and sister-in-law, Dr. Dianne L. Iverson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to AFLC Commission or Evangelism, 3110 E. Medicine Lake Blvd., Plymouth, MN 55441.
