DSU sprinters finish 1-2 twice at Bison Open
FARGO — Dickinson State sprinters Fred Agabje and Breyan Miller cruised to first and second place, respectively, in both the 60 and 200 meters Saturday at the Bison Open at North Dakota State’s Shelly Ellig Track and Field Facility.
FARGO — Dickinson State sprinters Fred Agabje and Breyan Miller cruised to first and second place, respectively, in both the 60 and 200 meters Saturday at the Bison Open at North Dakota State’s Shelly Ellig Track and Field Facility.
Agabje and Miller had times of 6.87 and 6.92 seconds, respectively, in the 60. Agabje clocked a 21.84 time to win the 200, handedly beating Miller’s time of 22.26.
Former DSU star Trevor Barry, an Olympian from the Bahamas, competed unattached and won the high jump with a leap of 7 feet, 2½ inches. DSU’s Wyatt Mirich was eight at 6-2¾.
Brady Sundheim won the triple jump with a leap of 46-2¾.
Nathan Magstadt took second in the 60 hurdles in 8.19 seconds and was fifth in the 200 at 22.73.
Magstadt, Agabje, Corey Gill and Chris Gill had a runner-up spot in the 1,600 relay with a time of 3:26.12.
Denis Patrick was second in the 3,000 at 8:48.55 and third in the mile at 4:22.78. Jeffery Segovia was fourth in the 3,000 at 8:55.11.
Dante Carter ran a time of 1:55.06 to finish second in the 800. Dustin Sandbak was seventh in 1:58.04.
Dustin Rueb, a former Beulah High School standout now at the University of Mary, won the long jump in 22-3.
On the women’s side, Stormie Sickler was fifth in the 800 at 2:21.41 and helped the 1,600 relay team to fifth place at 4:13.42.
