BOWMAN — A win is a win.
Though it wasn’t pretty, the Dickinson Trinity girls basketball team finished its regular season in the win column.
Rachel Jahner led the Titans with 16 points and five steals en route to a 37-36 victory over Region 7 opponent Bowman County on Saturday.
Jahner was the lone scorer to eclipse the double-digit mark for either team. The junior guard supplied all three of the team’s 3-pointers. Titans head to the postseason with a 14-5 overall record.
The Bulldogs (10-8) led 29-24 after the third quarter, but Trinity held a 13-7 edge in the final frame.
Bowman County had a large advantage at the free-throw line, where it went 19 of 26, while the Titans were 2 of 4. However, Trinity kept its turnovers to a minimum with just 10 to Bowman County’s 26.
Kennedy Keator and Gretchen Weir each supplied six points, while Madison Jahner added five and Brianna Soehren had a team-high nine rebounds.
Haley Sabe led Bowman County with nine points. Kaylee Heinrich posted eight and Brittany Hansey and Arianna Zook each had seven.
Both teams now prepare for their respective district tournaments on their home courts.
Trinity has the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the District 14 Tournament that begins at 6 p.m. Friday at Knights of Columbus Activities Center. Bowman County has the No. 6 seed in the District 13 Tournament and will play No. 3 seed Mott-Regent at 7 p.m. Friday at Solberg Gymnasium in Bowman.
