The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating an accident Thursday on Highway 22 in Stark County that involved a Dickinson Public School bus.

Dickinson Public Schools Superintendent Doug Sullivan said that the accident happened around 6:30 a.m. Thursday, but he did not know the extent of any injuries because he had not received a police report.

He did say, though, that no students were on the bus at the time of the accident.

After the accident, Sullivan said parents were contacted and informed that the bus would not be completing its route Thursday.

Sgt. Dan Haugen with the North Dakota Highway Patrol said that the State Patrol would release information after it finished its investigation in to the accident.

Stark County Sheriff's Office provided traffic control near the accident, as vehicles were diverted off Highway 22 from 32nd St. SW to 31st St SW.

The two southbound lanes of Highway 22 were reopened before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, but both of the northbound lanes remained closed at that time.
