The final day of both the District 13 and 14 girls basketball tournaments have been postponed until today, officials announced Monday.

Dickinson Trinity athletic director Rick Gordon announced the postponement of the District 14 Tournament and Bowman County High School athletic director Tyler Senn announced the postponement of the District 13 Tournament.

Weather and road conditions, including several no-travel advisories and a blizzard warning for all counties encompassing Region 7, caused the postponements.

The championship and regional tournament qualifying games for both tournaments were scheduled to be played Monday night.

The District 14 Tournament takes place at Trinity’s Knights of Columbus Activities Center while the District 13 Tournament is at Bowman’s Solberg Gymnasium.

Today’s games at the District 13 Tournament will begin an hour later than originally scheduled, Senn said, because of conflicts with the regional Science Olympiad and possible further weather issues.

New England will face Hettinger-Scranton at 5 p.m. in a region-qualifier game and Mott-Regent plays Heart River in another qualifier game around 6:30 p.m. Beach and Bowman County play for the district championship at approximately 8 p.m. There will be 20 minutes between games.

The District 14 Tournament games will be played as they were originally scheduled Monday.

Richardton-Taylor will face Killdeer in a region-qualifier game at 4:30 p.m. today, followed by another qualifier game between Beulah and Hebron-Glen Ullin at 6 p.m. Dickinson Trinity will play Hazen for the championship at approximately 7:30 p.m.
