3 Blue Hawk basketball players earn Frontier honors

WHITEFISH, Mont. — Two Dickinson State men’s basketball players and one player from the women’s basketball team were named all-Frontier Conference honorable mention selections on Wednesday.
Seniors John Hanstad and Johnie Sanders earned the nods from the men’s team while sophomore Janae Moore was the lone player to earn honors from the women’s team.
Sanders, a 6-foot-4 forward from Apple Valley, Minn., led the DSU men with 11.9 points per game while also grabbing 4.5 rebounds and contributing 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game.
Hanstad, a 6-3 guard from Dickinson, averaged 8.9 points and 2.6 rebounds per game while making a team-leading 53 3-pointers. Hanstad finished his career second on DSU’s list of career 3-point shooters.
Moore, a 5-11 forward from Sidney, Mont., averaged team highs of 13.9 points, 7.1 rebounds per game and 1.6 steals per game while shooting a team-leading 51 percent from the field in her first season as a full-time starter.
