Wolf and Lynch help Marauders win DMR at indoor nationals for school’s first D-II title
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Dickinson High School graduate Dakota Wolf helped the University of Mary distance medley relay team to the school’s first national championship in the school’s NCAA Division II era.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Dickinson High School graduate Dakota Wolf and former Dickinson High student Brienna Lynch helped the University of Mary distance medley relay team to the school’s first national championship in the school’s NCAA Division II era.
Wolf opened the relay with a 1,200-meter run, which sparked the Marauders to a time of 11 minutes, 28.92 seconds — the third-fastest time in D-II history — at the national indoor track and field championships.
Lynch ran the third leg, the 800, in a time of 2:16.72. Lynch grew up in Dickinson but moved to Bismarck as a senior and graduated from Century High School.
Wolf, Lynch, Kathryn Stewart and Melissa Agnew combined to set a new school record an earn All-America honors.
Agnew ran the 1,600 to close out the race and seal the title. Wolf finished second in her leg by less than half a second.
Wolf will race in the 5,000 meters today.
