Northwestern hands DSU baseball a pair of losses

TUSCON, Ariz. — The Dickinson State baseball team was limited to six hits and one run in back-to-back losses to Northwestern College (Iowa).

TUSCON, Ariz. — The Dickinson State baseball team was limited to six hits and one run in back-to-back losses to Northwestern College (Iowa).

The Red Raiders took a two-game sweep against the Blue Hawks 5-0 and 4-1 at the Tucson Invitational on Saturday.

Jacob Muir, a senior outfielder, was the lone Blue Hawk to supply hits in each game.

Brock Murphy and Chris Mjelstad each tallied a hit in the opening game. Bobby King took the loss on the mound after pitching seven innings allowing five runs on nine hits.

In the second game, Jordan Tescher went 1-for-1 and Joe Binstock added a single and DSU’s lone run.

Tanner Newman pitched six innings was tagged with loss.

The Blue Hawks are in Tucson through Friday and play Mount Marty College (S.D.) and Saint Ambrose University (Iowa) today.
