Blue Hawks are handed a pair of losses

TUSCON, Ariz. — Four runs separated a win from a loss on Wednesday afternoon for the Dickinson State softball team.

TUSCON, Ariz. — Four runs separated a win from a loss on Wednesday afternoon for the Dickinson State softball team.

Lubbock Christian (Texas) and Baker (Kan.) took 2-1 and 3-0 wins over DSU, respectively, on Wednesday at the Tucson Invitational.

Lubbock scored two runs in the bottom of the six, while DSU attempted a rally in the seventh, it could only muster one run.

Baker scored one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings to down the Blue Hawks. DSU supplied more hits (7) than Baker (5).

Monique Yslas went a total of 4-for-7 and a stolen base. Nicole Lobato had DSU’s lone RBI on the day scoring Taysia Kaufman.

The Blue Hawks head back to the field to play Missouri Valley at 9 a.m. and Dordt (Iowa) at 11 a.m. today.
