Shanley girls beat Mandan 64-30 at state tournament

BISMARCK — Jessica Anderson had 22 points as Fargo Shanley routed Mandan 64-30 Thursday in the opening round of the North Dakota Class A girls basketball tournament.

BISMARCK — Jessica Anderson had 22 points as Fargo Shanley routed Mandan 64-30 Thursday in the opening round of the North Dakota Class A girls basketball tournament.

The Deacons (21-2) raced out to a 43-10 lead and coasted through the second half to move into the semifinals.

Anderson made 10 of 16 shots from the field and hauled down five rebounds. Sarah Jacobson added 13 points and Alivia Fraase 10 for Shanley.

Shanley scored 28 points off and forced 30 Mandan turnovers.

McKayla Howling Wolf had 13 points to lead Mandan (12-11), which shot just 24 percent.
