FARGO — Seven homes that have been bought out by the city of Fargo as part of its flood prevention efforts are up for auction.
The houses are valued between $300,000 and $500,000. Auction winners are responsible for moving the homes.
Reality agent Jim Lakoduk tells WDAY-TV that some bidders might be interested in salvaging parts of a home, rather than moving it.
The city expects to spend more than $23 million dollars on home buyouts this year. Fargo residents battled major flooding for three straight years, beginning with a record Red River crest in 2009.
The auction is scheduled at 1 p.m. Monday at Fargo City Hall.
