Remodeling

split level houses

The Washington County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, in conjunction with a group of Twin Cities communities, is producing “Split Visions: A Planbook of Remodeling Ideas for Split-level and Split-entry Houses.”

The book is full of ideas for remodeling, improving and updating the split-level house type.

Residents who live in split-level houses are asked to respond to a questionnaire about their likes and dislikes of living in such a house.

Robert Gerloff Residential Architects, the project architects putting together the book, would like to know what you think about living in a 1960s or 70s split-level or split-entry house. They have set up a web site at www.split-level.com where respondents can post thoughts. The web site asks three questions: What do you like or dislike about your house and what would you do to change it?”

Reflections and ideas posted on the web site will be included in the final book to be published in spring 2003.
