Beware of scammers: Authorities discuss fraud reports

When Shirley Deichert checked her mail a few weeks ago, she found a letter that would fill many people with excitement. It said she had won a Canadian sweepstakes worth $4,750, but upon further examination, Deichert realized it was a scam. The letter enclosed had asked her to send the phony company money.
