Education issues coming up in 2009
BISMARCK — A goal educators and legislators have pursued for nearly 30 years is in sight. Gov. John Hoeven and the Commission on Education Improvement say that if the Legislature passes the governor’s school funding plan, it would mean that by 2010, 70 percent of local schools’ costs will be paid with state money, and the remaining 30 percent by local taxpayers.By: Janell Cole, The Dickinson Press
