Mees’ gets trophy elk on Belfield ranch

CJ Mees only had once chance in her lifetime to shoot an elk in North Dakota. The 14-year-old Bismarck resident made the most of it. Mees took down a 6-point trophy elk on opening day of elk season Sept. 2 at Jim and Dona Lowman’s Ranch north of Belfield. The rough score on Mees’ trophy elk was a 330.
