GOP calls on Heitkamp to return donation

FARGO — State and national Republicans called on Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp on Wednesday to return campaign contributions made by a law firm that has represented groups opposed to hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” an oil extraction method crucial to North Dakota’s energy boom.
