Great blue heron in its nest

A great blue heron sits in its nest Tuesday morning at Lake Ilo National Wildlife Refuge. It’s the only known blue heron rookery in the area, said refuge manager Kory Richardson. He said there are 10 to 15 nests atop a small grove of cottonwood trees on the north shore of the lake. (Press Photo by Jason Adkins)
