Grazing in cattle country

North Dakota’s beef cattle industry accounts for $600 million of the state’s agricultural income, according to the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. According to the United States Department of Agriculture’s most recent statistics from 2009, North Dakota contributed 2 percent to the nation’s total cattle inventory that year.
