During the 110th Christmas Bird Count, sponsored by the National Audubon Society, birders observed this long-eared owl in Theodore Roosevelt National Park’s South Unit on Jan. 2. Park Ranger Nathan King sites the bird as a rare find during spring and summer months and nearly non-existent during winter months.
