Corde Thomas Fredericks

Corde Thomas Fredericks, 21, went to be with our Lord Jesus on Dec. 15, 2011.

The family has asked that after their private family service, the public join them at the Twin Buttes Memorial Hall at 11:30 a.m. CST Monday, Dec. 19 to celebrate Corde’s life.

Corde was born in Dickinson on Sept. 13, 1990 and was the fifth of 11 children to Kenneth Jr. and Pamela (Thielen) Fredericks. Corde was raised on his beloved family ranch in Twin Buttes. He was baptized, received his first communion and confirmed at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Twin Buttes by Father Stephen Kranz. He attended grade school in Halliday and went on to attend and graduate from Killdeer High School in May of 2009.

From early on in childhood, Corde excelled in athletics. He was passionate about wrestling starting at age 4. He went on to have a very successful career winning many district and regional titles. He was a three-time state wrestling qualifier winning the state runner-up title in his senior year, 2009. He also earned the gold medal in the 2006 North America Indigenous Games in Denver, representing the Three Affiliated Tribes, which he was a member of.

He also participated in football at Killdeer High School and contributed to a victorious 2008 football season where he helped Killdeer win the regional championship against New Salem-Grant County with three touchdown runs and a critical two-point conversion. Corde had a fearless spirit and participated in many other extreme sports including, but not limited to Moto-Cross, Mixed Martial Arts fighting and bull riding. He was undefeated in MMA fighting and had a current record of 4-0. Corde participated in rodeo from an early age where he competed in shodeo events as a child and later excelled in various bull riding competitions. Despite his love for extreme activities, he was always supported by his family and friends who loved to come and watch him.

Along with an athletic career, Corde had many other interests and hobbies. He was an avid bow and rifle hunter and enjoyed riding and breaking his own horses. He also was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and making various things of wood and metal.

After high school, Corde worked for Martin and Little River Construction building oil rig pads and roads. Corde then went on to work on oil rigs where he was currently employed with Unit Drilling rig No. 121 along with his brother, Allias. However, Corde’s ultimate dream was to ranch full-time with his father and brothers, which they were planning to do in the near future.

There was never a dull moment when Corde was around and his family has many fond memories of all the entertaining activities he provided on the family ranch. He was adored by his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was a compassionate, fun-loving uncle and brother having a tender place in his heart for children. Corde did more things in his short 21 years than most people do in a lifetime.

Corde is survived by his parents, Kenneth Jr. and Pamela, five brothers, Coleman (Kim), Allias, Hunter, Christian and Dayne of Twin Buttes; five sisters, Anna (Greg) Batke of Hazen, Gabrielle (Jake) Sage of Hazen, DoMonique, Danielle and Kallye of Twin Buttes; his six nieces and nephews; his Great-Grandmother Pearl Gabrielson and his Grandmother AnnaMay Boyd of Helena, Mont.; and his many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Corde was preceded in death by his grandfathers Kenneth Fredericks Sr., and Daryl V. Boyd; Grandmother Marion Gisella Fredericks and uncles Hans Fredericks and Kevin Thielen.
