Peter Schmaltz

The Mass of Christian burial for Peter Schmaltz, 80, Hettinger, is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 17, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hettinger. Rev. Stephen Folorunso will officiate with burial in the Hettinger Cemetery.

A rosary service is at 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Peter passed away Thursday, Sept. 13, at Clarkson Health Care in Rapid City, S.D.

Grateful for having shared in his life are his children, Paulette (Larry) Merwin, Baker, Mont.; Gary Schmaltz, Lead, S.D.; daughter-in-law, Joan Schmaltz, Hettinger; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one brother, Philip (Rose) Schmaltz, Bismarck; one sister, Anna Felt, Auburn, Wash.; one brother-in-law, Leonard Schultz, in Washington.

Visitation is Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Centennial Chapel of the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger.
