Cecilia Kuntz, 90, Brighton, Colo., died Monday, Dec. 3, in Denver. Cecilia was born in Richardton on Sept. 25, 1922, to Fred and Mary (Zentner) Schubert.

Cecilia was born in Richardton on Sept. 25, 1922, to Fred and Mary (Zentner) Schubert.
As a young lady, Cecilia traveled several times by train to California to help her sisters with their children. While she was there, she also worked repairing and sewing uniforms for the Army.
Cecilia met George Kuntz in 1941 and later married in 1945. While George was in the Navy, they lived in Mobile, Ala., Biloxi, Miss., Orange, Texas, and Long Beach, Calif. Cecilia met and became very dear friends with another sailor’s wife. They kept each other company while the “boys” were at sea and remained friends for life.
Cecilia and George lived on a farm near Belfield until 1972 when they moved to Brighton, where she lived until her death.
George passed away in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.
She enjoyed fishing and camping with George in the Colorado mountains and made her fall trip to the mountains every year to see the aspens change.
Cecilia loved to crochet and was very crafty. She made numerous afghans for her family. She loved to be around small children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Cecilia is survived by her children, Nick (Nita Miller) of Vancouver, Wash., Ken (Clarine) of Boulder, Colo., Dale (Diane) of Cameron, S.C., Georgette (Louis) Dorval of Dickinson, Jeff (Sue Nye) of Indialantic, Fla., Rene (Tunie) Ortega of Brighton, Bennette (Brian Tooley) of Bend, Ore., Lynette ( Bob) Baumgartner of Brighton, daughter-in-law Rosie (Ed) Jacobson of Dickinson, 17 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, brother, Roy (Shirley) Schubert of Richardton, sister, Dolores (Reinhard) Godes of Dickinson, two brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George, son, Gary, and daughter-in-law, Patty, four sisters and three brothers.
A rosary service is 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9. Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10. All services will be held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Brighton.
Internment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, is Monday at 3 p.m. Staging Area A.
Cecilia will forever be cherished by her family and her smile will be greatly missed. Let her rest in peace.
