Kathryn “Katie” Rech was born June 6, 1915, to Anton and Barbara (Kordick) Rech. She attended rural school.
On Nov. 11, 1935, Kathryn married Joe Klemm at St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Lefor. They purchased a farm in Stark County. To this union six children were born, Hedy, Luella, Robert, Eugene, Ronald and Eileen. In 1959, they moved to Dickinson.
For a short duration she was a nurse’s aide and a student of Norman Rockwell School of Art and loved to paint, sew, read, play the organ and garden. Her greatest joy was sharing her garden with everyone. She loved to cook for and spend time with her family and friends. Drop-ins were always welcome at her dining table.
Kathryn will be missed by her three sons, Robert (Linda) Klemm, Eugene (Carol) Klemm, Ronald (Diana) Klemm and three daughters, “Hedy” (Conrad) Dassinger, Luella (Richard) Fichter, and Eileen Muecke, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Margaret (Jake) Roller and Anna (Thor) Ellington.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, six brothers, Jack, Joe, Bill, Peter, John and Conrad.
