Funeral Mass for Jeremy Schumacher, 22, Glen Ullin, is 10 a.m. CST Friday, Jan. 4, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin, with Rev. Jeff Zwack celebrating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Glen Ullin.
Visitation is 5:30 p.m. CST today, followed by a rosary and vigil service at 6:30 p.m. CST in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glen Ullin. Visitation will continue Friday one hour prior to the Mass.
Jeremy’s life ended in this world on Saturday, Dec. 29.
Jeremy was born Aug. 14, 1990, in Bismarck, the son of Robert and Debra (Rebel) Schumacher. He grew up and attended school in Glen Ullin, graduating in 2008.
While in school, he played football in Jr. High, was a member of the Boy Scouts, where he earned numerous badges and really enjoyed the winter camp.
Jeremy worked at Marian Manor Nursing Home throughout high school. After graduating from high school, Jeremy went to work at Red Trail Energy in Richardton.
In September 2012, he started working for ADM (Arthur Daniels Midland) as a member of the Operations Team.
Jeremy enjoyed snowmobiling, riding his ATV’s, hunting, fishing and camping. His real passion was for demolition derbies. He enjoyed building his derby cars, spending time with his buddies while working on them and competing in area derbies.
Jeremy received third place in the Team Derby in Mandan and second place at the Elgin Derby.
Jeremy was very outgoing, always making new friends and he knew how to make people smile. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.
Left in sorrow, are his parents, Deb and Robert; his only brother, Jesse Schumacher (Kayla Kottre); his cat, Whiskey; and close friends, Sharmayne and Adam. Also left behind are his grandmother, Lauretta Schumacher; grandfather, Frank Rebel; aunts and uncles, Alvin Schumacher, Marge (Robert) Thomas, Charlie (Pam) Schumacher, Don Schumacher, Jeff (Sherry) Schumacher, Carletta (Terry) Meuchel, Bill Schumacher, Peggy (Rod) Hendricks, Doug (Stacey) Rebel, Harold (Kim) Rebel; and numerous cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Konston Schumacher and Pauline Rebel; and cousins, Shane Rebel and Chastity Rebel.
