Reckless, said 74-year-old Dickinson resident Art Sickler, a former U.S. Marine Corps member who cared for the battle-tested, small Mongolian mare turned Marin while stationed at Camp Pendleton in California following the Korean War. Starting in 1956, at the end of the Korean War, Sickler spent two years with the 5th Marine Regiment. He worked with a machine gun crew and flamethrowers.
