Residents forgetting they left their garage door open, a man in a van yelling at skateboarders or a granddaughter coming home late from a movie are some of the calls the Dickinson Police Department have gotten in recent weeks and they don’t mind responding to them.
Dickinson Rural Fire Department responded to a fire caused by fireworks shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday at Patterson Lake Recreation Area, Fire Chief Andy Paulson said. Firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes.
Attorneys for the North Dakota Newspaper Association and Stark County Sheriff Clarence Tuhy believe the Stark County Commission may have met illegally to request the dismissal of the sheriff, but the county state’s attorney said Wednesday he thinks otherwise.
A Belfield man is once again the target of several anonymous letters claiming he is a cat killer, Stark County law enforcement said Tuesday. Officials have not found proof to support this, and the author may face criminal charges for harassment and slander.
Stark County residents will pay $2 per resident per month for law enforcement if their city doesn’t have its own police department, officials decided Thursday evening at the Dickinson Law Enforcement Center.
