BISMARCK — Crew camps popped up in western North Dakota as a solution to the oil-fueled housing shortage, but the camps have created their own set of problems that the state still is trying to assess and address.
With signed letters in hand from residents who look unfavorably upon a potential crew camp development near Killdeer, the Dunn County Commission on Wednesday approved in a 4-1 vote a rezoning request to change 120 acres of rural preservation land to rural development.
GRAND FORKS — A team of researchers led by faculty from the University of North Dakota are working on the “North Dakota Man Camp Project” to document social conditions in camps in North Dakota’s Oil Patch.
