This year’s North Dakota winter wheat crop is predicted to be down 56 percent from 2012, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Statistics Service’s North Dakota Office.
Though winter wheat is down by 400,000 acres from 2012, the average yield is still projected to be 52 bushels per acre in North Dakota, according to the USDA.
In all, the nation’s winter wheat production in 2013 was down 10 percent from last year.
