Residents have given Stark County Fair Association members many ideas regarding plans for a fairgrounds, but they are still looking for input.

A bill that would give the High Plains Cultural Center $2 million has now moved on to the house.
House Bill 1193, a bill that would appropriate $2 million in funding to the Department of Commerce to distribute to the Dunn County Fair Association, was moved from the Political Subdivisions Committee in a 6-6 tie vote onto the house floor for consideration Thursday.
The Stark County Fair Board plans to seek legal advice over how to move forward with the proposed development of 56 acres of land west of Dickinson.
At Wednesday’s Fair Board meeting, representatives from the Western Soil Conservation District discussed possibilities with the board. It is unclear whether the Soil Conservation District would be able to construct a building on the property.
The Stark County Fair Association Community Discussions Report was distributed at the group’s regular monthly meeting on Monday. The report, which was compiled by The Consensus Council of Bismarck, outlines information gathered from the four community input meetings held in January and February.
