There seems to be a disconnect between parents and their children in regards to their views toward drugs and alcohol.
At least that’s what the results of a recent survey conducted by Community Action and the Southwest Coalition for Safe Communities shows.
The Associated Press reported last week that trace amounts of pharmaceuticals — including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones — have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 41 million Americans. The investigation focused on 24 major metropolitan areas across the country and did not include southwestern North Dakota.
While researchers do not yet understand the exact risks from decades of persistent exposure to random combinations of low levels of pharmaceuticals, recent studies have found alarming effects on human cells and wildlife.
