ANACONDA, Mont. (AP) — Anaconda-Deer Lodge County commissioners are considering a proposal to extend by a half-mile a section of Montana Highway 1 that has a 45 mph speed limit to reduce collisions between vehicles and bighorn sheep west of Anaconda.
The U.S. Forest Service is mulling over the option of allowing Billings County to construct a road through a management area known as “bighorn sheep habitat,” and comments are being accepted on the project until Friday.
