MEDORA — It certainly wasn’t on par with a taping of the popular reality TV hit “Doomsday Preppers,” but Thursday’s multi-county hazard mitigation workshop at the North Dakota Hall of Fame had attendees thinking about preparedness.
Cities and businesses in five southwestern North Dakota counties accumulated more than 20 violations for not meeting drinking water standards. The water is safe but they failed to report results in time.
DUNN CENTER — Emotions ran high during a community meeting at Dunn Center City Hall Thursday afternoon as residents grilled U.S. Postal Service employees about suspending service at the city post office.
“It’s like all the doors are slamming,” said Cherri Lynch, a Dunn Center resident.
Two new positions have been added to the Dunn County Commission since the primary election in June, said Reinhard Hauck, county auditor. Voters passed a measure expanding the commission from three to five members.
“People had until Sept. 3 to file for those two additional spots,” Hauck said.
