BISMARCK (AP) — The North Dakota attorney general said he’s hoping a judge’s ruling on a dispute over air quality rules will convince a federal agency to adopt a state Health Department proposal on haze pollution from two power plants.
BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota utilities are exaggerating the cost to consumers of proposed federal rules that would reduce pollution from two coal-fueled electric power plants, according to an analysis paid for by two environmental groups.
BISMARCK (AP) — Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and a group of energy executives argued with environmental activists Thursday about the best way to reduce haze from North Dakota’s coal-burning electric power plants.
DENVER (AP) — In a settlement with conservation groups, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has agreed to give final approval next year of plans to address haze in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana and North Dakota.
Some groups believe tighter regulations should be placed on two North Dakota coal-fired power plants which produce more than five times the amount of haze considered by the Environmental Protection Agency to diminish visibility in Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
