20-year-old had ‘a passion for the military’ BISMARCK — A North Dakota Army National Guardsman killed in Afghanistan told his mother when he was 7 years old that he wanted to be a soldier and serve his country.
BISMARCK — Maj. Gen. David Sprynczynatyk, North Dakota National Guard adjutant general, announced Tuesday that two soldiers assigned to the 818th Engineer Company (Sapper) were killed in action Monday while on duty in Afghanistan. An additional soldier from the unit was wounded in the attack.
