Dickinson residents Bradley Stockert, left, and Lance Koskovich shovel snow off a neighbor’s driveway Tuesday in south Dickinson. Most of North Dakota was under some type of winter storm alert or blizzard warning Tuesday evening. A winter weather advisory will remain in effect today for Billings, Bowman, Dunn, Golden Valley, Slope and Stark counties until 5 p.m. Forecast snowfall accumulations ranged from an inch in the western part of North Dakota up to 12 inches in the southeastern part of the state and north-central area of South Dakota.
Cary Reindel uses a shovel on wheels to move the first snow of the season Thursday from his sidewalks around his house on Sixth Street Southeast. National Weather Service records indicate that Dickinson received less than an inch of snow in the storm, but high-speed winds with gusts to 30 mph helped create hazardous road conditions Wednesday night. Snow is forecast to return Saturday.
