Commonly known as the Christmas tree, North Dakota tree sellers indicate that there aren’t many growers of conifers in the state.
For the last five years, Dickinson resident Eric Smallwood enjoyed looking out of his apartment window at the trees across the street by the Dickinson Elks Building. But a Tacoma, Wash., developer cut down the trees and made way for new ones Friday.
More than 40 years ago the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, in an effort to create structure for fish and create artificial habitat within Heart Butte Dam (Lake Tschida) in Grant County, sunk some old car bodies into the reservoir.
