BISMARCK (AP) — North Dakota regulators say some oil companies may have ignored their warnings to protect oil waste pits from spring flooding and failed to take action that could have prevented some of nearly three dozen spills in recent weeks.
The National Weather Service has much of southwest North Dakota under a fire weather watch Saturday, including Adams, Bowman, Stark, Hettinger, Morton, Golden Valley, Slope and Dunn counties, among others.
Dickinson’s outdoor warning sirens sounded Wednesday evening in response to possible severe weather.
Dickinson Police Department Chief Chuck Rummel said the sirens sounded as part of a new warning procedure.
