Letter: Children to receive gifts, more than 790 boxes collected
I would like to thank everyone who packed a shoe box this year for the Operation Christmas Child outreach ministry. Because of your generosity, over 790 shoe boxes were collected from southwest North Dakota!
These boxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items and small toys will be going to children in some of the poorest countries in the world. These children are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness or neglect. The pictures of the children receiving the boxes melt your heart as they are so excited with the gifts they have received. For most of them, the shoe box will be the only gift they will receive at Christmas or any other time of the year. Some of the countries that the shoe boxes from the Upper Midwest area are going to include: Abkhazia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Macedonia, Malawi, Mauritius, and Niger. Again, thank you for your generosity and may you have a blessed holiday season!
