Letter: Remember Dec. 7, 1941!

American Veterans (AMVETS) was founded on Dec. 10, 1944.

Membership is open to anyone who is currently serving or who has honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces from World War II to the present.

AMVETS is committed to ensuring that Dec. 7, 1941, is remembered and preserved through the USS Arizona Memorial.

With your generous support, AMVETS will ensure that the service and sacrifice of our greatest generation will be forever honored by a grateful nation. Today, more than 1 million people visit Pearl Harbor annually and tour the USS Arizona Memorial. There are 1,102 sailors and Marines interred aboard the sunken USS Arizona.

Donate online today by visiting Next, click the yellow donate now button and select “USS Arizona Fund.” Or donate to our local Post 22 and we will forward the money for you. Make checks payable to AMVETS.

It will be “thanking those who have served and those that are serving.”

John J. Dutchuk,
