Prairie Rose Chorus to present "Carols, Cookies and Cocoa"

The Prairie Rose Chorus will present its annual Christmas program titled “Carols, Cookies and Cocoa” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Living Word Fellowship Church, 1645 14th St. W.

The chorus will present Christmas favorites including “Do You Hear What I Hear,” “Let It Snow” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.  The audience also will be invited to sing several Christmas favorites with the chorus, while children may join “Santa” Rich Brauhn for a story.

Director Robyn Nadvornik said the chorus welcomed three guests to join them in rehearsals for last eight weeks.

“Preparing and singing for the Christmas concert gives women an opportunity to try barbershop singing, and see if it is something they would be interested in pursuing,” she said. “Of course, we always hope the guests will decide to become members of the group but singing during the Christmas season does not have a long commitment.”

Following the concert, cookies and cocoa will be served in the fellowship room of the church.Admission is free, but everyone is invited to bring an item for the food pantry.
