'Mike'd Up' festival set at Mott
The second annual “Mike’d Up” Music Festival will be held on Saturday in Mott.
The festival is in memory of Michael Wehri, who died last summer in a farming accident. Proceeds will be placed in the Michael D. Wehri Scholarship Fund and the scholarships are awarded to Mott-Regent students.
The afternoon performances include the Ed Bill Joe band consisting of Ed Billock, Bill Oberlander and Josiah Billock. Cassandra Johnson will sing classic and alternative rock. The Blicks, including Noah Blickensderfer, Cade Blickensderfer and their parents, Stan Blickensderfer and Heather Hertz, will play tunes by Fleetwood Mac and James Taylor. Hunter Parcel from Rugby will sing rock with a bit of country. McKenzi Wehri and Alyssa Olin will sing pop songs like “Wrecking Ball.” Copperlight is a punk band from Bismarck.
New Arizona, which is a band from Mott, will headline the event. The members were all close friends of Michael’s.
The other evening performers are Rachael Jane from Minneapolis, who plays with Alex Johnson and Westley Johnson. She is best described as playing bluesy rock. Bear North from Fargo plays folk rock — think Bob Dylan.
Tickets are $10 at the gate.
