Dufault receives nomination for Mr. Basketball

FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Killdeer senior Austin Dufault has added to his list of accolades.

The 6-foot-7 forward was nominated for North Dakota's Mr. Basketball award on Wednesday.

Dufault has signed a national letter of intent to play at the University of Colorado.

The award is presented annually by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association to honor the top senior player in the state.

The winner will be announced after Saturday's Class B boys championship game at the Fargodome.

The other four finalists are Jordan Allard of Fargo South, Jamie Mauch of Hankinson, Jordan May of Fargo North and Justin Shipman of Watford City.

The following are season statistics:

Allard -- 17 points, 10 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2 blocks.

Dufault -- 26 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.5 steals, 2.5 blocks.

Mauch -- 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals.

May -- 23 points, 4.5 assists, 4 rebounds.

Shipman -- 21.5 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 2 blocks.
