Cricket team leaves Pakistan after gun attack

LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) -- A cricket official says a plane carrying Sri Lanka's team has taken off for Colombo following a high-profile gun attack in Pakistan.

Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer Salim Altaf confirmed a special flight left from an airport in the eastern Pakistani city of Lahore at 10 p.m.

Altaf says two players hospitalized after Tuesday's attack on the cricketers were on the flight.

The attack in Lahore left six police officers and a driver dead and underscored the precarious security situation in Pakistan.
