Highway Patrol IDs victim of fatal Thursday crash
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has identified the 52-year-old Hazen man who died Thursday after the pickup he was operating veered off Interstate 94 and crashed into a Dickinson home.
Robert Kilber was pronounced dead after the white Ford pickup he was driving late Thursday morning on Interstate 94 west of Exit 64, for unknown reasons, veered into the eastbound lanes of the freeway, ran up a "large hill" and into the basement of a home at 1189 12th Street East in Dickinson, according to a HP press release.
HP Sgt. Dan Haugen said Dickinson Fire Department personnel made entry into the home shortly after the crash and found the sole occupant of the pickup without a pulse. The unidentified man's body was then taken to Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson.
An adult female and a child were present in the home at the time of the accident, though they were not injured, Haugen said. The crash remains under investigation by the HP.
