Blotter: Equipment stolen from local business

Police lights

• Clear Creek Plumbing and Heating reported that $10,000 worth of equipment was stolen. A speciality machine makes up more than 90 percent of the cost, police said. There is a suspect who has not yet been apprehended.

• A vehicle was reportedly vandalized while it was parked in the Walmart parking lot on Tuesday. There was a large scratch on the rear fender and the front door of the truck, which caused an estimated $400 in damage. It is not known if the damage was intentional or if it was a cart. There are no suspects.

• A window at Lincoln Elementary was reported as broken on Wednesday. It is not known how the window was broken. There are no suspects.

• A package worth $250 was reported as stolen from a home on the 200 block of Second Street Southwest on Wednesday. The package included tools for wood finishing. There are no suspects.

• A lawn mower was reported stolen from the 800 block of ERA Drive. The owner believes she may know who it is, but just wants her mower back and does not want to press charges.

Sydney Mook has been covering higher education at the Grand Forks Herald since May 2018. She previously served as the multimedia editor and cops, courts and health reporter at the Dickinson Press from January 2016 to May 2018.  She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a bachelor's degree in journalism and political science in three and half years in December 2015.
