One dead, one charged with DUI in Northern N.D. crash
WALHALLA,N.D. - One Walhalla man is dead and another recovering from injuries and charged with driving under the influence after a northern North Dakota crash Friday night.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol said a 2002 Chevrolet K-1500 pickup was eastbound on 105th Street Northeast, about five miles west of Walhalla, when it failed to execute a right hand turn on to 121st Avenue Northeast and rolled.
A 33-year-old male passenger was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Highway Patrol. His name was not immediately released.
The driver, Heinrich Penner Fehr, 31, will be charged with driving under the influence, troopers said. He was sent by ambulance to Pembina County Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries.
Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.
