V A 5-month-old child passed away Tuesday afternoon. Ambulances were called to an east Dickinson residence after a day care provider found the child she had put to bed 45 minutes earlier blue in the face and unconscious, Dickinson Police Capt. Dave Wilkie said. The incident is still under investigation by the Dickinson Police Department and Stark County Social Services, but no foul play is suspected. It is standard procedure to investigate all child deaths.
V A 29-year-old Dickinson man was arrested for possession of heroin and meth after a domestic abuse call, Wilkie said. Police were called to Jeremy Armstrong’s residence Wednesday morning. While there, they found a tan pouch containing used syringes and baggies with white and tan powders in them. A test determined the substances to be opiates and amphetamines. Armstrong was arrested for domestic violence/simple assault, possession of meth, heroin and paraphernalia.
V At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police received a call from a man concerned that the dryer was being stolen from a nearby apartment building, Wilkie said. Shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, police received a call that a suspicious vehicle was at the same apartment building. Witnesses determined that it was the same blue and white Ford attempting to remove the washer that had removed the dryer earlier. Police questioned the suspect on site, but did not arrest or cite him. The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the Dickinson Police Department at 701-456-7759.
