Bemidji man dies in collision with horses on highway
PARK RAPIDS, Minn. — A Bemidji man was killed Saturday morning when the van he was driving collided with horses on the roadway south of Park Rapids.
Troy Hargreaves, 43, was driving north on U.S. Highway 71 just before 5 a.m. when the van “struck horses in the roadway,” according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash took place at milepost 255, a mile south of the Four Mile Corner. Hargreaves was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol’s release, and the vehicle’s airbag did deploy.
