WEST FARGO — A man was in custody after a chase that started when he allegedly took his friend’s car during a traffic stop, then rammed a police car, according to police.

Jean Edward Roubideaux, 25, was being held on suspicion of possession of a concealed weapon, aggravated assault on a police officer, attempted burglary, fleeing both on foot and in a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting arrest.

West Fargo police Sgt. Jason Dura said police made a traffic stop just after 1 a.m. That’s when a passenger, Roubideaux, jumped into the driver’s seat and drove off, crashing the car deliberately into another nearby squad car.
